never stops teaching.
Journaling for awareness. Growing for life.
This year has been filled with many wonderful experiments, and my latest one has left a giant smile on my face.
When I decided to become a self-publishing author, I took on a “go big or go home” attitude and created a business. My mission with Emerald Shores Publishing has been to create and promote books to grow on—books that will offer new perspectives and bring people into conversation. Emerald Shores provides a platform for self-publishing authors to band together through team marketing and bring innovative and inspiring literature into as many lives as possible! After I’d established my goal, I realized that I already had two incredible women in my life that were self-published authors; and they were inspiring lives with their fresh ideas and enthusiasm! I knew that if we put our ideas together, we could do something wonderful.
Certified Financial Planner, author and mother, Shannon Ryan, teaches parents how to raise financially literate children and create financial happiness within their families. She is a powerhouse of knowledge and vision, which is only matched by her passion for her work! And Stephanie Dreyer, founder of Veegmama.com, children’s book writer and mother, has ideas on healthy living that can empower families to start living “The Good Life.” She brings levity to otherwise overwhelming topics, like a healthy diet, and gives suggestions that are practical and fun! So, I approached these incredible ladies and asked if they’d team up with me to give an Empowering Mother’s Benefit in honor of Mother’s Day. I was delighted that they shared my enthusiasm for reaching out to others, and together we created a beautiful event that just took place last Saturday.
We had a lovely brunch for mothers in the South Bay, and presented three discussions: Living Toward Fulfillment, Financial Happiness, and Healthy Living & The Good Life. Ticket sales have allowed us to purchase large needed items for new mothers and children coming to Good Shepherd Shelter—fleeing domestic abuse. And those who attended the brunch empowered Shannon, Stephanie and I to keep sharing our messages!
I am so pleased that Emerald Shores has already been able to provide a platform for books and discussions that can grow a person. I know they’re growing me! And we’re just getting started.
Thanks to those who attended our event last weekend, and thanks to those who are finding ways to empower each other every day!
